2018 Collio Studio di Bianco

The 2018 Studio di Bianco is quite pretty and floral in its youthfully wound-up state. Further coaxing reveals more of the peach, pear and wild herbal notes you’d expect here, as the bouquet seems to gain volume with each swirl. It’s soft, silky and noticeably dense on the palate, all supported by a structured medium-bodied frame, with ripe orchard fruits complemented by sweet spices and a hint of vanilla bean. Although a bit weightier than expected, there’s so much going on here, and with the potential for so much more. The Studio di Bianco is a blend of Friulano, Sauvignon and Riesling, depending on the vintage.
