Faiveley owns three parcels of this mighty Grand Cru, totalling 1.29 hectares. Head Winemaker Jérôme Flous feels it is one of their most complete wines, combining the power of Mazis-Chambertin and the delicacy of Latricières. The nose is fine with florals and sweet fruit, but beneath this is a powerful engine of fruit, concentrated sweet raspberry, just revving to go. Chalky minerality and earthy tones complement the fine tannins. Superb.

The 2022 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is brilliant, bursting with aromas of sweet wild berries and cherries mingled with notions of peonies, vine smoke and incense. Full-bodied, layered and unctuous, with a thick but lively core of fruit framed by rich, powdery tannins, it concludes with a broad, saline finish.
Cask sample. Fairly discreet nose at this point. Rich start – really precise and layered on the palate. This is one of those wines that really builds towards the finish, despite being a little dumb on the nose initially. (JR)

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
