Deep, dark and slightly wild, the serious tannin structure already sitting so exactly in the full-bodied and concentrated palate. Very subtle, earthy and bitter-chocolate notes at the long, powerful finish that is already really silky. Drink or hold.

Cask sample. Bright, deep crimson. Haunting, sweet fruit with both polish and depth. This is really pretty gorgeous but is also spookily ready! Gorgeous mix of ripe fruit and freshness with real vitality. But I could drink this tonight! Lovely energy too so it will probably last as well as being so attractive now. Sweet and polished but not sickly. (JR)

Apparently it was a struggle obtaining contracted fruit to create the 2019 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru. It is rather cowed by the flamboyant Griottes at the moment, coming across quite conservative with tertiary black fruit laced with tobacco. The medium-bodied palate has firm, slightly chewy tannins. There is good depth and grip here, but I would like more finesse and persistence on the finish.
