Tasting notes
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Chagnots 1er Cru has a pastille-like purity on the nose: raspberry and wild strawberry, hints of vanilla from the oak, though it would benefit from a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, a little rustic but not necessarily in a negative way. Grippy, dark berry fruit and brown spices appear towards the finish. I would give this two or three years in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

About the producer

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
