The 2018 Vosne-Romanée En Orveaux 1er Cru is perhaps the overlooked gem within Cathiard’s portfolio, a view shared by the winemaker himself. This latest iteration has brilliant delineation on the nose, offering intense blackberry, raspberry and crushed mineral aromas that blossom with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with filigreed tannins, a killer line of acidity and a sense of symmetry toward the long finish. This is outstanding.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru En Orveaux is a magical wine in the making, wafting from he glass with a profound bouquet of cherries, licorice, exotic spices, rich soil tones and orange rind. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, multidimensional and muscular, with a deep and concentrated score, rich and powdery tannins and a long, succulent finish.
