Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2004-2012, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2001

The 1999 Echezeaux, harvested at 40 hectoliters per hectare, displays dark fruit, Asian spice, and sweet oak aromas. It has outstanding depth of red and black fruits (mostly cherries and blackberries) as well as Asian spices in its pure, dense personality. This medium to full-bodied wine is fresh, harmonious, and boisterous. It reveals loads of ripe tannin and sweet oak in its long finish. Drink it between 2004 and 2012.
