(from 11-year-old vines) Good full red. Expressive aromas of cherry, raspberry and smoky minerality. Supple, sweet and very ripe; an easygoing fruit bomb with a chocolatey quality. Finishes with substantial tannins and a slightly aggressive character.

The first Sylvain Cathiard wine on the upward scale that starts to show seriousness. Real sinew and structure here even though the vines are only 11 years old. Easy, fresh with flavours of glacé cherries. Denser than the village Vosne but with a light, flirtatious finish. (JR)
