Tasting notes
The 2009 Echézeaux is racy, opulent and bursting with fruit. Today the Echézeaux looks to be accessible relatively early. Layers of ripe, candied fruit flow across the palate to the round, caressing finish in this beautiful, highly expressive Burgundy.

The 2009 Echezeaux is racy, opulent and bursting with fruit. Today the Echezeaux looks to be accessible relatively early. Layers of ripe, candied fruit flow across the palate to the round, caressing finish in this beautiful, highly expressive Burgundy. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. No known American importer.
Bright red with ruby tones. Highly perfumed, expressive aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, graphite and licorice. Dense and lush but youthfully tight, with terrific floral lift to the complex dark fruit and mineral flavors. Wonderfully silky in texture but at the same time quite taut and vibrant for 2009. Finishes extremely long, with sweet tannins buffered by the wine's powerful mid-palate material. An outstanding sample. Jayer notes that the crop level was a generous 40 hectoliters per hectare.
