Tasting notes
The entirely different character of the 1995 vintage is quite perceptible in this Brunello: Fresher and deeper in color. More intense and penetrating on the nose but, at the moment at least, more restrained and powerful and less openly ripe and sweet. Currently firmer and more tannic on the palate; less voluptuous in texture and slightly austere today. This very forceful, authoritative Brunello, which has not yet been bottled and is unlikely to be released until early 2001, needs the softening that should take place in bottle. Much less ready than the above, but potentially longer-lived.

About the producer

Soldera is one of the most highly rated, fiercely collected wines of Italy. The winery is based in the Brunello di Montalcino, however the estate is no longer labelled as a Brunello, following a fall out with the consortium. Made from 100% Sangiovese, the wine is currently bottled as a Toscana IGT.
