Good dark color. Subdued nose shows a distinctly black fruit element and a cool menthol quality. Deep, rich and chewy, with a distinctly burly Nuits aspect dominating today. Brooding flavors of dark fruits, tobacco and graphite. Rather unforthcoming today but has the combination of ripeness and acidity that promises a slow and positive evolution in the bottle. Finishes chewy, sweet and long.

Deep inky purple. Black core. Subtle but present mocha, finely laced cassis aromas and hint of vanilla. Very attractive with spice emerging. Remarkable intensity of fruit with wonderful freshness and supple tannins holding everything firm. Rich yet already seems approachable. (JR)
