Good full medium red. Aromatic nose offers cherry, rose petal, minerals and menthol. Sappy and supple, with firm acid spine to the flavors of cherry, pepper and herbs. This comes across as quite youthfully tight and wound-up, with an edge of acidity and a peppery quality giving the back end a medicinal austerity. This wine's intensity and length suggest it will reward five or six years of cellaring.

Good full red-ruby. Crushed black cherry, currant and licorice on the pure, fruity nose. Supple and young but broad, offering good mouth coverage. Still a bit hard-edged, with firm acids, but also possesses intense cassis and licorice flavors. Finishes with big, dusty tannins and some tarry oak.
