Un nez doux, mûr, accueillant. La bouche, d’abord assez ferme, s’adoucit peu à peu et gagne en chaleur, avec une légère touche champignonnée.

(5 Star Wine) A brilliant intense purple. Immediately on the nose there is a nobility over and above anything else in the cellar. The fruit swells across the palate without losing its sense of identity. There is an equilibrium from perfect structure backing this intensity of fruit. Harmonious structure, well integrated oak and impressive length. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted: October 2023.

Superbly aromatic, almost infinitely complex, this wine boasts a plummy fruit aroma with hints of smoke, cedar, leather, and forest floor. It is beginning to mature but there are no truffle or game aromas yet, and the firm tannins and dense body are carried to a wonderfully lingering finish with astonishing elegance and balance. This is a classic, traditionally-styled Corton in the best sense of the term. The grapes come from Faiveley’s iconic 2.77-hectare Clos des Cortons Faiveley monopole in the lieu-dit of Corton et Rognet. (CC)
