Deep, even blackish, ruby. Sweet start and very charming. Imperceptible tannins and acidity! Complete and early maturing. Gently made. (JR)

The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaut Saint-Jacques 1er Cru was showing quite a lot of reduction on the nose. The palate is more expressive with fine tannins, gentle grip and good tension. It is not a Gevrey with substance or grip, much more airy in style with a prickle of spice towards the finish. It will just need a year or two in bottle.
About the producer

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
