Tasting notes
24-year-old vines. Aged 20 months in 50% new French oak barrels. NHB. Deep crimson. Very supple and subtle on the nose. Juicy, fine-grained and a lovely change from overdone Napa Cabs. Some grip but freshness, too. Well done! (JR)

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor Vineyard has really come together since I last tasted it. A wine of elegance and precision, the Meteor captures all the finesse of this cold, late-ripening year. Crushed rocks, lavender, menthol, spice, lavender and chocolate soar from the glass. The Meteor is dense and quite potent, yet also remains wonderfully light on its feet. Refined tannins leave a lasting impression.
The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Meteor Vineyard offers up a heady concoction of very dark fruit, menthol, gravel, licorice and ash. Readers will find an inky Cabernet endowed with tremendous substance and textural intensity. The 2023 had not been racked at the time of this tasting, which renders it rather closed. Even so, there's plenty of substance here.
