Tasting notes
The 2023 Corton Grand Cru comes from purchased grapes, hence under the Pierre & Marianne Duroché name. It was completely destemmed. This has a mixture of red and black fruit scents on the nose, pastille-like elements emerging and hints of orange zest. The palate is medium-bodied with fine pliant tannins and a keen line of acidity, gaining weight toward the finish. I thought this was from Vosne-Romanée until Pierre informed me it was from Corton! This is very elegant.

About the producer

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
