2023 Ruchottes Chambertin

The 2023 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a refined bouquet that opens up nicely in the glass to reveal a mélange of red and black fruit, brown spices and sous-bois . Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly confit-like black fruit on the entry. It is quite juicy for a Ruchottes, perhaps missing the mineralité of, say, Mugneret-Gibourg or Roumier. Yet, there is admirable length here as a dash of black pepper lingers on the aftertaste.
