Tasting notes
The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges Clos des Argillières 1er Cru offers a mix of blackberry, raspberry and briary scents on the nose, a little saturnine at the moment, not quite engaging as well as its peers. The palate is well balanced with slightly chewy tannin, modest depth and a rather simple, slightly dry finish. Not bad, but not a long term ager. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

Racy and transparent with an attractive savoury character. Real drive and energy. Great stuff! GV ? (JR)
The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillières has a generous, quite floral bouquet with ample redcurrants, raspberry preserve and Alpine stream scents that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, crisp acidity, quite strict and mean at the moment but I appreciate the energy conveyed here. Give it three years in bottle and you will have a seriously fine Nuits-Saint-Georges.
