Tank sample. Light to mid crimson. After the Fonteny, this is back to pretty, scented red fruits. Very slightly floral. Intense, juicy, crunchy fruit. Lovely freshness, the tannins are fine-boned and add to that freshness. Mouth-watering finish, the fruit super-pure. (JH)

The 2021 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from the north part of the vineyard and contains 40-50% whole bunches. Pretty red berry fruit on the nose, this has a skip in its step, light chalky scents emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, quite elegant in style, lightly spiced with a finely proportioned, sapid finish. Enjoy this over the next 12-15 years.
