Own vines. A plot next to Ruchottes with neighbours Dugat-Py and Bruno Clair. Certified organic. Cask sample. Rich and really gorgeous but awfully expensive. Long and reverberant. (JH)

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Fonteny 1er Cru was vinified with around 65% stems. It has a gorgeous bouquet with rose-petal-infused red cherries and strawberry fruit, beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, filigree tannins and impressive precision toward the classically styled finish. Four barrels produced.
