1999 Capanna Brunello di Montalcino Riserva

The 1999 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva opens to full glory as soon as it is poured into the glass. Don’t decant more than one or two hours as the bouquet is fragile. Capanna’s Riserva sports a deep, dark color and enticing aromas of prune, moist earth and leather that wrap thickly over the palate. There’s that characteristic Brunello tannic bite on the close that never seems to soften no matter how much age you give the wine. Drink: 2014-2022.
