Score 93/100 · Drink 2021-2033, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Feb 2021

The 2011 Ontogeny Red Wine is a blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with lesser portions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Deep garnet colored going brick at the rim, it soars from the glass with expressive notes of plum preserves, cassis and redcurrant jelly as well as hints of dried Provence herbs, charcuterie and crushed rocks, plus a waft of black truffles. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers slowly evolving red and black fruit flavors with a soft texture and bags of energy, finishing long and refreshing. 770 cases were made.
