Tasting notes
Deep ruby-purple, the 2020 Syrah The Hedge is somewhat restrained on the nose with scents of cassis, blueberry and Earl Grey tea leaves. the full-bodied palate is chewy and loaded with floral fruit. It has a somewhat rustic texture so drink it over the next 3-5 years and pair it with grilled meats.

Black (and some blue) fruits, ground pepper, violets, and some bloody, gamey notes all emerge from the 2020 Syrah The Hedge, a medium to full-bodied, structured, grippy Syrah that has good mid-palate depth, plenty of tannins, good purity of fruit, and solid length. Give it a year or so and it should keep through 2028+. In addition to the Paso Robles releases from this great estate, they also produce a tiny amount of Pinot Noir from the Sta. Rita Hills under their Decroux label.
