Tasting notes
I think the finest wine I’ve tasted from Matt is his 2016 Cherry Red, which is 52% Zinfandel, 14% Graciano, 23% Syrah, and the rest Carignan. This rub- hued beauty offers a fabulous perfume of blueberries, raspberries, brambly herbs, and dried flowers. Sweetly fruited, incredibly pure, yet concentrated and layered, it’s a sensational blend from a great winemaker. Don’t miss this beauty! I’ve written it numerous time, but Linne Calodo remains one of the reference point estates in Paso Robles. Winemaker/owner Matt Trevisan consistently puts together exotic and singular blends that deliver opulence as well as balance.

(raised in large new and used American oak casks) Bright violet. Primary red and blue fruits, potpourri, allspice and vanilla qualities on the explosively perfumed nose; a mineral flourish adds urgency and lift. Sweet, deeply concentrated raspberry and boysenberry flavors turn livelier with air, picking up spiciness and a touch of florality on the back half. Silky, broad and seamless in texture, finishing with excellent clarity and smooth tannins that contribute shape and gentle grip.
