Tasting notes
Caparzo's 2008 Brunello di Montalcino is impressive. It boasts serious depth, nuance and complexity. Smoke, licorice, spices, black cherries and plums all develop in the glass supported by firm, beautifully integrated tannins. This is a solid Brunello with plenty of upside for the next decade if not longer.

This is a solid Brunello with plenty of upside for the next decade, if not longer. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028. Caparzo is another historic property that seems to be enjoying a resurgence, something that is great to see. These two new releases are both outstanding. Deep ruby with broad orange-tinged rim. Compact and a little medicinal on the nose at first. Lots of sweet fruit and gripping tannin, but not really compelling (yet). (WS)
