Tasting notes
More floral on the nose than the Schieferterrassen. Lots of energy. Bone-dry end but less extreme than the Schieferterrassen. (JR)

The 2022 Röttgen GG opens with classic smokiness as well as ripe Riesling aromas. Silky, juicy and savory on the palate, with grippy acidity and dark slate spiciness, the 2022 is a rather baroque yet also vital Riesling with a penchant for punk rock. Tasted as a sample at the Vorpremiere VDP.Grosses Gewächs in Wiesbaden in August 2023.
Tank sample. AP number 08 23. Minerals a go-go on the nose, followed by intense fruit as is the style of this producer. I’d happily choose any 2022 GG from this producer but this probably has the greatest ageing potential. (JR)
Pendulating aromas of orange blossom, kumquat and lemon curd. Finely contoured palate with a charming juicy centre and stony etchings. Sleek and supple. This vintage checks the creamy, opulent style in beautiful and restrained ways. (PS)
