Tasting notes
The 2021 In My Dreams is composed of 32% Grenache, 27% Tempranillo, 18% Carignan, 12% Graciano, 6% Mourvèdre and 5% Tannat. It has deep scents of wild berries, pomegranate, tobacco, leather, mossy bark and spicy undertones. The full-bodied palate offers deep, broody flavors framed by chalky tannins and refreshing acidity, and it has a long, spicy finish.

32% Grenache, 27% Tempranillo, 18% Carignan, 12% Graciano, 6% Mourvèdre, 5% Tannat. Aged 18 months in French oak foudres (60%) and barriques (40%). 370 cases produced. Tasted blind. Deep opaque purple. Powdery lavender florals on the nose, black cherry and vanilla. Plush and round palate with sweet fruit and elevated tannin. Lightly amaro bitterness to the finish. (SCJ)
Darker berry fruits, pepper, violets, and some subtle gamey, underbrush, and black tea notes all emerge from the 2021 In My Dreams, a medium to full-bodied, plush, sexy red from Matt Trevisan. I love its tannins, and it has terrific balance as well as outstanding length. This is 32% Grenache, 27% Tempranillo, 18% Carignan, 12% Graciano, and the rest Tannat and Mourvèdre that spent 18 months in 60% foudre and 40% barrels (I believe all used.) Winemaker Matt Trevisan continues to be the master of the blend and produces exotic, singular, incredibly compelling wines based largely on Rhône varieties as well as ample Zinfandel-dominated wines.
