Tasting notes
Readers looking for a solid Cabernet should check out the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from Eberle. It’s 100% varietal and was brought up in 30% new French oak barrels. Classic notes of crème de cassis and blackcurrants give way to more tobacco and lead pencil with time in the glass. This medium-bodied, sweetly fruited, balanced Cabernet can be drunk any time over the coming 7-8 years, possibly longer. These Eberle releases are always well made and in most cases represent terrific values.

Inky ruby. An expansive bouquet evokes fresh blackberry, cherry, tobacco, cedary oak and musky flowers. Sweet, juicy and nicely concentrated, offering focused dark fruit and spicecake flavors that are complemented by smoky mineral and floral nuances. Bright acidity sharpens a youthfully tannic and very persistent finish, which features lingering notes of cola and bitter chocolate.
