Tasting notes
Rich and concentrated, the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes reveals arose of plums, wild berries, vine smoke and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it's deep and multidimensional, with succulent acids and sweet, melting tannins. This is always Boillot's honorary grand cru, and this vintage is no exception.

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cherbaudes 1er Cru offers light raspberry and briary scents on the nose, well-defined though like other cuvées this year, lacking fruit concentration. The palate is sweet and surprisingly candied on the entry, orange zest and marmalade infusing the red fruit, the oak a little disjointed on the finish despite a modest percentage. This needs time to knit together.
