Just a little sour on the palate, fruit a little wiry and grippy. Not the most expensive wine on show but feels a little stripped. (AWH)
Clean nose with some reduction, youthful and with a smoky tinge. Really juicy and vibrant fruit with a crackle of redcurrant freshness – zingy, zesty and very appealing. Clean and long finish. GV (AC)
The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Village has a simple, slightly earthy bouquet where I am seeking a little more fruit. The palate is better with tart red cherries on the entry, though overall, I am looking for more density and structure for a Morey Village.
About the producer

Situated in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Tortochot may not carry the cachet of the very top domaines in the village, but it does offer some of the best value, producing wines with great terroir transparency in their top Premiers and Grands Crus, and fabulous village wines.
