Tasting notes
The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Imperiale was picked in the Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten with fruit from Ruppertsberg. Two-thirds of the wine fermented in tonneaux and Doppelstück with the rest in stainless steel. It is golden in hue, with juicy, ripe yellow peach flesh wrapped up in smokiness on the nose. The palate reinforces that peachy vibe, leaving it with lemony brightness. This revels in the smoky oak. It is bright and light but packs a punch. (Bone-dry)

Intensely yellow in color and opening with a deep and rich bouquet with oaky, smoky and sur lie notes intermingling with ripe, elegant fruit aromas, the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc I is a full-bodied, rich and textural white with fresh oak or even sawdust notes on the palate and a serious mineral as well as phenolic structure. This is still masked by its winemaking, but it's elegant, tight and sustainable. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in July 2024.
