Score 92/100 · Drink 2025-2035, Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous, Jun 2025

The 2024 Pinot Noir Vinos de Viñedo Los Parientes from Traiguén opens with floral aromas of rosehip and hints of rose, plus a light herbal note that might suggest whole clusters, though none were used. Extra dry, it shows more marked acidity than in other years, along with touches of damp earth and a trace of chalk. The 2024 is a drinkable Pinot Noir with character. The botanical edge may stem from second flowering, after a November frost reduced the crop. With time, it may settle into a calmer profile.

Like the Los Parientes Chardonnay, this Pinot Noir lost 90% of the crop to frost in 2024,which is bad news for its growing troupe of aficionados. Made with a mix of Burgundianclones (777, 828 and GA-02), it's floral, ethereal and charming, with savoury tannins, raspberry and wild strawberry fruit and some clove spice from 15% whole bunches.
