Good dark red. The nose combines raspberry and deeper-pitched aromas of smoke and earth. Ripe, round and easygoing; a bit less minerally and complex than the Petite Chapelle and in need of some time in bottle to absorb its dusty tannins and come into harmony.

Bright medium red. Deep, musky scents of strawberry, redcurrant, leather and game. Fat and sweet in the mouth, offering serious volume to its red and darker fruit and smoky meat flavors. Finishes with big, dusty tannins but firm mineral support gives this premier cru a light touch for such a palate-saturating wine.
The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos-Prieur offers a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, here, an enticing marine element surfacing, traces of seaweed (kelp) coming through with time. The palate is very well balanced with filigree tannin. The fruit profile starts red, but veers towards black as it fans out on the finish, while all the time maintaining fine mineral tension. This is another really quite gorgeous 2015 from Trapet. It comes highly recommended.
