Tasting notes
(the last vintage of this bottling to include purchased grapes from the J. J. Cohn Vineyard in Rutherford; as of 2009 it will be made entirely from Morisoli fruit): Good dark ruby. Pure aromas of blue fruits, graham cracker and graphite minerality. Sweet, smooth, fleshy and concentrated, with lovely life and aromatic lift to the warm flavors of blue fruits and menthol. Finishes very long and firmly structured, with a serious tannic spine. A classic Rutherford blend. If the Oakville wine is dominated by black fruits, this one is more blue.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford is a huge wine layered with expressive dark red fruit, spices and flowers. It possesses striking gorgeous inner perfume and an attractive fleshiness in a juicy, up-front style that is well suited to near-term drinking. The Rutherford captures a great balance between fruit and structure. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. Tel. (707) 257-5300
