More Grenache-dominated, the 2021 Les Deux Frères checks in as 65% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Tempranillo, from a mix of vineyards in the Willow Creek and Adelaida districts, that spent 18 months in 20% new barrels. Spiced red and black fruits, peppery herbs, leather, and meaty notes all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, layered mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's another stunning wine in the lineup from this team that has tons of character as well as a solid 10-15 years of overall longevity.

The 2021 Les Deux Frères is a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Tempranillo. It has savory scents of red and black currants, leather, steak sauce, dried herbs and pipe tobacco. The full-bodied palate features umami-driven flavors, pleasantly rustic tannins and vibrant freshness, and it finishes a touch youthfully coiled. Give it 2-3 years in bottle.

65% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Tempranillo from Coakley, G2, Paderewski, Gateway, Parrish, L’Aventure, Hawks Hill and Caelesta vineyards. Aged 18 months in 20% new oak. 450 cases produced. Tasted blind. Deep purple. Wild lavender and blackberries. Acidity is high and tart with high tannin. Ripe sweet black fruit on the palate. Structural elements hold the finish in place for a full minute but without much flesh – lots of tannin and acid. This needs at least a year to unwind. (SCJ)

The 2021 Les Deux Freres is spicy and floral with crushed red berries and savory spice. It's softly textured with succulent red and blue fruits offset by grippy mineral tones and juicy acidity. There's a pleasant inner sweetness and savory spice hints on the finish, tapering off with a lasting tannic grip. Les Deux Freres is a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Tempranillo.
