2008 Barrel 27 High on the Hog

The 2008 High on the Hog is a knock-out white Rhone Ranger blend of 39% Grenache Blanc, 36% Viognier, and the rest Roussanne and Marsanne. Crisp honeysuckle, orange marmalade, and peach notes jump from the glass of this elegant, fresh, richly fruity, medium-bodied wine, which has zesty acidity, but lots of personality and soul. Drink it over the next year. This is a steal. There are some terrific values in this portfolio from Barrel 27 Wine Company.
