Tasting notes
The 2018 L'Insolent is a Bordeaux-like blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Petit Verdot. Deeply hued, with notes of cassis, green tobacco, cedarwood, and toasted spices, it has full-bodied richness, a round, supple, elegant texture, some distinct minerality, and nicely integrated oak. It shows the pure, fresher style of the vintage and will benefit from 3-4 years (at least) of bottle age.

Inky ruby. A deeply perfumed, complex bouquet displays smoke-accented cherry liqueur, black currant, vanilla and incense aromas and an oak spice overtone. Sweet and energetic on the palate, offering concentrated dark fruit preserve, floral pastille, chewing tobacco and mocha flavors that deepen and pick up a hint of cola with aeration. Seamless, focused and lithe for its weight, finishing extremely long and spicy, with building florality and polished tannins lending gentle grip. All new French oak.
The 2018 L'Insolent is made of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Petit Verdot. Deep purple-black in color, the nose explodes with cassis, violet, cedar, graphite and licorice. The palate is full-bodied with lush fruits supported by a firm, ultra grainy frame and lifted by surprising freshness, finishing long and nuanced. Give it another 3-5 years in bottle. 250 cases produced.
