Score 92/100 · Drink 2006-2016, Robert Parker, Jun 2006
The 2004 Problem Child (a 320-case blend of 72% Zinfandel, 17% Mourvedre, and 11% Syrah) exhibits gorgeous notes of sweet and spicy black pepper, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries, a wonderful texture, and hints of graphite, minerals, and white flowers. This classic, full-bodied, powerful (16.2% alcohol) Zinfandel is capable of lasting 6-10 years or more, but who will be able to wait that long? the wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered after spending 16 months or more in primarily American wood barrels, of which approximately 20-30% is new. If you haven’t discovered the wines of Linne Calodo, it’s about time as this is one of the up-and-coming superstar performers in Paso Robles. Tel. (805) 227-0797
