Tasting notes
Very juicy and sweet. Lots of fun with an undertow of chestnuts (as I so often find in Barthod wines). Still chewy.

Bright medium red. High-pitched aromas of red fruits, mint, menthol and spices. Juicy, pure and on the lean side, showing a penetrating quality and firm minerality to the flavors of red fruits, flowers and spices. Classically dry, perfumed, firmly structured Chambolle with fine-grained tannins and lovely aromatic persistence.
The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Baudes had a more introspective nose than its siblings; there is dark fruit here, touches of iris and cold limestone, reserved but still well defined and bewitchingly pure. The palate is well balanced with crunchy black fruit, a fine line of acidity and just a hint of spice to the otherwise strict and linear finish. There is just a tang of white pepper on the aftertaste, completing a refined and natural Chambolle-Musigny.
