2017 TOR Kenward Chasing Windmills Fulldraw Vineyard

New to the TOR lineup from this 2017 vintage, the Fulldraw vineyard is owned by Connor McMahon, who is a winemaker at neighboring Booker Vineyards. It is situated in the western, Templeton Gap district of Paso Robles. A barrel sample, the 2017 Fulldraw Vineyard is composed of 95% Grenache and 5% Syrah, fully destemmed then fermented in a single open-top tank. It will be aged 28 months in small and large French oak barrels before bottling without fining or filtration. Pale to medium ruby-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with bold Morello cherries, raspberry preserves and mulberries scents plus touches of stewed tea, cinnamon stick, allspice and garrigue, with a waft of dusty soil. Full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating red berry preserves and spicy layers, framed by soft tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing long with a fragrant earth perfume.
