Tasting notes
This "two-star" Auslese represents the point in Molitor’s 2015 portfolio where botrytis emerges as a major player, and the effect is felt not only in nose-prickling candied lime and grapefruit peels, quince jelly and white raisin, but also in tangy pineapple near the core that helps balance the wine’s high residual sugar and reveals the concentration of acidity that has accompanied elevated Oechsle. Mango and muskmelon emerge with aeration, enhancing the sense of advanced underlying ripeness independent of the botrytis influence. The feel is silken, but a bright, penetrating blade of citricity runs through this entire performance, leading to a blazing, focused, tangy finish that borders on severity but grips with raw, clenched intensity.

Wonderful floral honey and dried mango nose. Rich and succulent with a lot of power and acidity. This is a very serious wine that\'s just beginning to show what its got. 50 years potential as long as the cork holds.
