Tasting notes
The 2020 Chardonnay Seashell has the most tropical fruit, yet also the most electric acidity of Hudson's three single-parcel Chardonnays. Like the others, it's barrel-fermented using indigenous yeasts in approximately 80% new French oak. Mango and papaya notes are joined by mandarin orange on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is creamy and lushly textured, ending long, citrusy and vibrant.

Straight-up awesome, juicy, and I'd wager one of the whites in the vintage, the 2020 Chardonnay Seashell reveals a vivid gold hue as well as stunning notes of ripe citrus, honeyed minerality, spicy oak, and brioche. It's medium to full-bodied, flawlessly balanced, has bright acidity, and a great, great finish. It will keep for 7-8 years, probably longer, but it's incredible today.
A complex nose of oyster shell, lemon-grass, fresh hay and rosemary. Medium-to full-bodied with lovely, balanced acidity. Fresh and crystal-clear, with lovely nuance and length. Mineral, citrus and herbal notes all meld together with persistence. Terrific wine. Drink or hold.
