Bright, pale yellow-straw. Reticent stony nose. More filled in than the Blanchots, with good precision to its stone fruit and mineral flavors. Fruity and densely packed, with a bright, tactile, rising finish that owes more to this grand cru than to the very ripe year. I underrated this wine a year ago.

30% fermented and aged in oak. Sweeter on the nose than the Blanchots. Creamy, quite gentle and very approachable. Gentle but not soft. (JH)
(30% fairly young barriques High-pitched aromas of fresh apricot, white flowers, spices and dusty stone. Cool and very fine-grained, with rich, nicely perfumed flavors of lime, mint and spices. Uncompromisingly dry but not at all austere; in fact, today this seems downright exuberant, although the spicy oak quality is a bit intrusive. Finishes chewy and saline, with lingering oak spice. Not my favorite style of Clos.
About the producer
Although the Bichot family settled in the region in 1350, Albert Bichot was founded in 1831 by Bernard Bichot. Today the producer is one of Burgundy’s most respected, making wines from both its own vineyards and with purchased fruit.
