Tasting notes
An impressive Cabernet Sauvignon from the western slopes of Yountville, this wine has a deep ruby/purple color and classic blackcurrant notes with loamy soil in the background. Winemaker Celia Masyczek brings her considerable talents to the winemaking and blend. This wine spent 20 months in 75% new French oak and tips the scales at 14.5% alcohol. Cedar, spicy black cherries and currants allied with some oak and earth are found in both the aromatics and flavors. This full-bodied, well-balanced wine has a long mid-palate and finish, making it a top-notch 2005 that’s still very youthful and capable of another 15 or more years of cellaring.

Earthy nose of cigar box, sage and cedar. Monolithic structure, savoury complexity and luscious black and red fruits combine for a wine made for the cellar. Fine balance. (LM) $68
