I remember being told that this was the one wine of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti stable which was picked entirely before the vintage rains, served in magnum. Glowing mid red with a pale orange rim. Plenty of energy though. The fruit rises up and over the stem character, while remaining deliciously infused with a slight white pepper touch. This is drinking beautifully now. Enjoyed over dinner in Shanghai.
