52% Cabernet Franc, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Oakville Ranch vineyard. 50% new oak.  Deep purple. Cola and cinnamon spice. Rich and dense with super-fine powdery tannin and fresh acidity. So youthful and vibrant! (SCJ)

The 2021 La Magdalena Red Wine is 52% Cabernet Franc and 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, all from Oakville Ranch. After 20 months in 50% new French oak, it was bottled unfined and unfiltered, like all the Favia reds. There's more pronounced tobacco on the nose here, with dark, brooding, almost plummy fruit, accented by crushed stone and mocha shadings. It's medium to full-bodied on the palate, intense and concentrated yet silky, long and elegant—a real beauty.

New lightweight bottle. 60% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. 15% from a hillside site on the east side of the valley above Dalla Valle. (Actually from Oakville and perhaps they’ll put that on future bottlings.) Deep purplish crimson. Intense and muscular. Less lifted than Cerro Sur. Lots of tannin but very polished tannin. Real life and soul to this. (JR)

The 2021 La Magdalena is an even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that's all from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard. It's a more inward, closed wine yet has incredible potential in its darker red and blue fruits as well as notes of spring flowers and graphite. With integrated oak, medium to full-bodied richness, beautiful tannins, and a mineral-laced finish, it's another 2021 that's built for the cellar. Hide bottles for 4-6 years and enjoy over the following 20+ years.
