Tasting notes
The 2012 Vitovska T boasts a richness on the nose and palate that’s quite unexpected. Aromas of dried apricots and pears give way to sweet yellow flowers with a subtle hint of raw almond and vanilla bean. It’s silky yet lifted, seeming to coat all that it touches in liquid florals and subtle spice, just as a wave of brisk acids washes the senses clean, leaving lemony citrus and salty minerals to linger. Inner perfumes last for well up to a minute, along with a gentle structural tug. The Vitovska T is fermented with partial stems included and then aged in amphorae for two-and-a-half years on the lees. It’s quite stunning.

2.5 weeks on skins, 3 years in big barrels. Honeyed, straw and wild meadows. Smoky and honeyed but dry on the palate. Only very lightly tannic and finishes with a soft, creamy orange quality. (JH)
