Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots from Domaine Gagey did not live up to its showing from barrel. This bottle had a slightly funky nose that feels disjointed compared to others, a faint scent of nail varnish behind the kirsch and cassis fruit. The palate is ripe and sweet. This feels over-extracted and lacks detail on the finish. This was a vexing showing of a normally good wine, hence the question mark against my score.
