Tasting notes
Good medium red. Raspberry, minerals and spices on the tight nose, along with a touch of smoky oak. Densely packed, saline and energetic, delivering intense flavors of red fruits, warm spices and flowers, plus a positive note of earthy compost. Very concentrated, tactile wine with a serious spine of ripe tannins. Ultimately more spicy than fruity but firmly structured and very fresh.

Produced from a 0.72 hectare (1.78 acre) parcel located in the angle of the Echezeaux, the 2002 Clos Vougeot has a spicy nose and a medium-bodied personality that reveals blackberries and dark cherries before tightening in the finish. This wine’s astringent, hard tannin is cause for concern. Projected maturity: ? Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802
