Tasting notes
Lots of plums, cedary spice, and floral notes define the 2016 Château Bertineau Saint Vincent, which comes from the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation. It’s easygoing, medium-bodied, balanced, and well worth drinking.

This offers some violets and blackcurrants with purple flowers also in the mix of aromas. The palate has an even and juicy array of ripe and smooth, vanilla-infused berries and slick, easy tannins. A blend of 75 per cent merlot and 25 per cent cabernet franc. Try from 2020.
Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Bertineau Saint-Vincent opens with baked cherries, stewed plums and black raspberries plus suggestions of tobacco, bay leaves and charcuterie. Medium-bodied and chock-full of berry preserves flavors, it has a solid, chewy frame and just enough freshness, finishing savory.
The 2016 Bertineau Saint Vincent comes across as compact and lean, with less fruit and overall intensity than most wines in this vintage. Let's hope this Lalande de Pomerol comes together during aging.
