Tasting notes
The 2017 Marsannay Boivin has really fleshed out with further élevage and surpasses the expectations I formed when tasting it from barrel, delivering a lovely bouquet of cherries, plums, espresso roast, black truffle and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, supple and lively, its velvety tannins are largely concealed by the wine's sweet core of fruit. In five or six years, proclaims Roty, this will be "le petit Jésus en culotte de velours."

The 2017 Marsannay Boivin sports the purest bouquet amongst Roty’s Marsannay crus, perhaps the most modern, the new oak out front at the moment. The palate is very smooth and silky with pure black cherries mingling with crème de cassis. It is a modern style Marsannay for those seeking opulence this year.
